TN Turned on by a cheap trick

I don't have a lot of good bdx in my cache, but enough that I keep my hands off. So, tonight, as I grilled a NY strip and asparagus with my favorite prep of EVOO and Herbs de Provence, I figured it was a good time to open one of my cheapo Bordeaux wines. The Ch. Saint-Sulpice 06 was just the ticket. I paid 13.99 for it several years ago, and it is worth maybe 15.00 USD now. It's a Frederick Wildman import, so someone saw some value in it. Initially, some dark fruit and just a teeny bit of funk on the nose. Tannins? Fughedaboutit. However, every bite of my steak paired beautifully with this blend of 70% merlot, 20% cab sauv and 10% cab franc. After an hour or so, it just faded into a softer version of its former self, but still very pleasing. It certainly doesn't have longevity, but I wish I had a few more bottles for grill nights ahead.
