Yarden Syrah '09 is out here. Cab and Merlot come out usually later.

Hang on - why rush the 2008 vintages! They are awesome! If you will not drink Galil/Yarden 2008, the 2007 vintages are also great. Seriously, why rush a bottle that I would not drink for 4 to 5 years.

Still have a bunch of Merlot '07. Will likely wait for either the Jerusalem Festival or Sommelier (talked today with Avi Ben Ami, in November this year as usual, subscription starts in October) to taste the '09s but Dave is right, it's still probably too young for drinking. The 2010 will probably be a different story.

Not to stray from the discussion - but when in November my man, will Sommelier be held?

I've tasted each vintage of the regular Yarden merlot since 2000 and, in my view, the 2007 vintage is by far the weakest. It is thinner and tastes cheap. Incidentally, we are about to have the 2006 vintage right now with a plate of artisanal cheeses. The second bottle of this in 5 days and we really like it.
