2009 Bordueax's are they really that good?

Has anyone had these yet? Feedback? Are they better than 2005?

There sure seem to be a lot to choose from. Best I can tell they are as good as the '05's but they are also accessible. A lot of the wines are nice now (with a 2 hour decant), but they will age well too. Recently had an '09 Lilian Ladouy (St. Estephe, $25) and it was exceptional, even @ 14% ABV), and I just recommended a "Wine of the Week", the '09 La Lande Belair, Bordeaux, $10, 13% ABV). I have had a lot of nice wines from Cotes de Castillon. A good rule of thumb would be to buy anything above the regional Bordeaux AOC, though there are exceptions. Look for Bourg, Blaye, Cotes de Bordeaux, and the St. Emilion satellites. Unfortunately the classified wines are out of sight, but there always will be plenty of affordable "Cru Bourgeois", and St. Emilion Grand Cru.

I hope they're good. I just bought a case of Ch. Dauzac at Total Wine for $49.99/bottle.

Jon,

Which Total Wine did the buy the Dauzac? I bought the 2001 Dauzac a few years ago and it was $10 cheaper at the McLean TW versus the Springfield TW. I would have thought the opposite. I may pick up a few bottles myself.

I never buy from TW without a coupon.. and then, their prices are likely, for many things, to be barely competitive. At $50, that's a good price.
