Already signed up (and booked a room at the Whitemore Lake Best Western). Anybody know if there will be a Friday night event for us out-of-towners?

My only problem is deciding whether to bring Bordeaux, Barolo or Burgundy (Brunellos are overpriced and I don't know that bubblies will be able to be kept cold enough).

Gee, Ted, no problem...bring one of each! We can drink the bubblies before they have a chance to warm 8)

The original Founding Fathers of MoCool have passed the torch to a new group of organizers; none of whom are local. At this time there are no plans for Friday, but you never know what might transpire...

Good to hear you're coming this year!

Thanks for the considerate bump, JC! So glad you'll be joining us this year! There will be quite a wine contingent staying at the Best Western, I hear.

Looking forward to another great 'Cool!

I am staying at the Best Western but will probably drive over to the cabins on Friday with a wine to share. We will have to exchange cell phone numbers closer to the date so that I can locate WLDGers at the campgrounds.
Also I am thinking of bringing one Bordeaux that would benefit from decanting one or two hours before starting to drink it. Coming by airplane I will not be bringing wine glasses or a decanter so will someone driving to Michigan or living locally be willing to provide a decanter or some less formal container for aerating the wine? I suppose a plastic pitcher or jug would at least aerate the wine.

Hi JC,

I can bring a decanter for you. Just remind me to bring it about a week before the event, so I don't forget to bring it. I am sure there will be plenty of wine glasses to spare at MoCool. We will look forward to seeing you Friday night.

Definitely looking forward to this year's gathering!

My two projects are:

1.) securing air conditioning for the cabin;

2.) figuring what bottles will make the trip.

For #2, I've got Bubbles, Burgundy and Bordeaux. No Barolo in the cellar, and my only Brunello is a recently purchased 2006. Will probably bring the '06, and will either decant or open hours before the picnic....

But, I'm totally undecided on what Bordeaux I will bring.

I plan to bring a 2002 Cos (Bordeaux) and possibly a Henri Boillot Puligny Montrachet (white Burgundy.) Although Burgundy is one of my favorite regions, I don't have a lot of mature reds ready for opening. I may bring a Vieux Telegraphe and a German Riesling to share on Friday afternoon before the picnic or a favorite domestic Pinot Noir to put on the nonconforming table at the picnic.
