Great Price on Shiloh Legend

Onlinekosherwine.com is having a sale and they have an amazing deal on the Shiloh Legend - $17.90. I haven't seen it for less than $30 anywhere else. Pretty good prices on a few other wines as well - Flam Classico, Shiloh Secret Reserves, and they also have the new Zion Mihamartef for $43 or so.

Not all of their wines are Mevushal - as far as the Legend, if you look back at previous threads, everyone (even those that are "mevushal haters" ) seems to feel this is a very high quality wine despite it being mevushal - not to ruffle anyone's feathers or anything. This is definitely an example of the increased quality of mevushal wines by certain wineries.

Now that I have both bottles Mevushal and non, I will try to do a comparison. When I last had the Legend Mevushal variety I thought it went pretty flat very quickly. I am not sure if i believe the claims to aging ability.

I prefer to buy from the stores I have established a relationship with here(Rockland County NY) and in Israel.

I've ordered from them a few times and have had no issues - fast delivery and good customer service. Stacy - you have had a non-mevushal Shiloh Legend? I'm guessing that it was purchased in Israel?

Correct you are! When I met with Amichai(Shiloh) last October he gave me the Mevushal one, while in Israel over Pesach i saw their was a non Mevushal version which I took back here with me.

Went to the Website and the Hamartef = almost $90 and the link is an email blast.. of which I do myself so I did not want to use that link from here.. Do you have another source for the link.. The prices are below cost.. Sounds cool

I think it was a mistake and they have now corrected it. And it turns out the Shiloh Legend price was also an error and has been corrected. I guess it was too good to be true.

Time will tell. They shipped my case order (mix of on sale wines) and so far have kept to the price they "posted"....

As soon as I saw that emaiI called them. The prices they quoted as Yehoshua said were below their cost...a big boo-boo.

Emailed with Mayer from Shiloh, here was what he said:

Correct, we have mevushal and non mevushal on the Legend series and we allocated them according to the needs of the different markets. In this case the mevushal process was done at a later stage.

Not sure what that means long term, we will need to watch these mevushal wines and let time be the ultimate judge. For now - enjoy them every six or so months and see where they go! That is what I intend to do!
