Champagne Cocktail Dabblings Part II: Blondes & More Blondes

Yes, I adore blondes.

And one of the tropical-styled cocktails that allures me is the "Strawberry Blonde".

It appears to come in several variations, but the one that caught my eye was a variation preferred/made by "Girl Next Door" star Bridget Marquardt. I've been playing around with a variation that keeps champagne as the lone alcoholic component (in place of any vodka or cherry brandy). Again, these components can all be altered or replaced by ones of your liking:

THE CASUAL BLONDE
Crushed Ice
Fresh Lemon juice
7 large strawberries puréed
Sugar syrup (adjust to your liking)
A quality non-vintage champagne

THE BEACH BLONDE
The same drink components as above but taking careful measures to make sure the champagne used is a Blanc de blancs. You may not taste the difference but you will know the difference. And your blonde companion will appreciate the classy touch.

BLONDES & MORE BLONDES
The same variation as "The Beach Blonde" (blanc de blancs champagne) but with a touch of coconut cream and half & half.

BLONDE ROYAL
A most expensive variation I came up with, but perfect for that special occasion now and then. This drink is the same as "Blondes & More Blondes" but uses Taittinger Comtes de Champagne as the blanc de blancs. Again, you may not taste the added expense, but you (and her) will know... :)

By any chance, do you look like Troy Donahue? :)

We don't appear to be exact images of one another, no. I must admit I had to google the name just to see who he was. :)

Sorry, but I don't think he recorded anything as beautiful as "Beyond The Sea". At least not according to my Top 40 reference books...:)

I don't really think Troy was a singer, just the handsome varsity type who always got the blonde back in the movies of the early 60's.

I think Troy Donahue was my first "screen crush" when I was in primary school. We had a show called "Surfside Six" on the telly. How tastes change; Mr Donahue appealed strongly to me at age nine; nearly fifty years later, he's just too sugar-candy. Not my style.
