I have been using 2 deBuyer frying pans since I bought them for myself in December and have been more than happy with their performance. In short, they are magnificent. I was never happy with any non stick pan and I had tried many, throwing them away after 2-3 years use. These pans, made in France are heavy iron, became completely non stick after seasoning and 2 uses; sear food beautifully; go from cooktop to oven without concern; take any metal utensil without concern; are very easy to maintain; can be used on all heat sources including induction. I will be buying the saute pans as well and will be giving away some of my stainless- even the All Clad. These pans are far superior.
If you consider it a drawback, you can not leave food in the pan for any extended period of time, it will rust. My husband not realizing this left a dry toasted tortilla in the pan overnight and it was rusted by the next evening. Rust was easily removed by rubbing the pan with salt and then reseasoning to a non stick surface as good as before.
If you are looking for a non stick pan that can take the heat without the worry about chemicals and metal utensils these pans are a bargain because you will never have to replace one. I do highly recommend.
