Per an article I just read, experts are predicting big runs in the Sacramento, Rogue and Klamath rivers this year. 1.6 million adult chinook (aka 'king') salmon are expected, which is four times more than last year and 15 times more than 2006. Coho (aka 'silver') runs are also expected to be much higher.
Unfortunately, the good news for Oregon applies only to southern Oregon, not northern Oregon or Washington, where the catch is expected to be about the same as last year.

If you're, um, "hungry" enough then any food will work. Although getting the grill going for salmon might be pretty hazardous.

Chances are, though, that it may bring pricing down even for salmon caught in your part of the world. Supply and demand, you know.
