1997 Hiedler Weissburgunder Maximum - Austria, Niederösterreich, Kamptal (4/8/2006)
Consumed with Vietnamese summer rolls. This wine has been consistently excellent throughout its life, passing through several phases to this fully mature level. Light gold color with an expressive nose of lemon cream, light brown spice and lanolin. Rich and persistent on the palate, the citrus flavors are accompanied by honeyed tones that matched up well with the dipping sauce for the rolls. If you are lucky enough to have any of this wine I would open it now. Delicious Weissburgunder.
