1997 Philippe Rossignol Gevrey Chambertin Cuvee VV
This is much nicer than a bottle from about 6 months ago that was tired and thin. This is showing juicy mature crisp and lively pinot fruit. Nothing complex, but quite nice to drink and feel contented with one’s station in life. (Depending on what your station is of course)

2003 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Kabinett
I like this wine, it shows the plush tropical leanings of the year, but with more and more air the fruit shows clearer and clearer. Plush yet always soft, ethereal, lacy and true to the maker (or at least what I’ve tasted of the maker).

2004 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Spatlese
The vintage difference is quite apparent here, as this is weightier than the 03 but more restrained and fine in the structure and the attack on the palate. A very nice wine of crisp jeweled fruit. Something to drink and feel contented with one’s station in life. (Depending on what your station is of course)

2002 Pierre Soulez Savennières Roche aux Moines Doux “Chevalier Buhard”
Dirty dirty minerals, a sliver of rippling apricot fruit, and a loose sugary crème brulée custard bubble. People say this site is noble, but the bottle tastes not that way. Still, fun if you need a fix of sweet Angevin Pleasure.
