Jenise, it can't possibly be as bad as the Tepusquet Vineyards 1982 cabernet sauvignon. This is the one that Robert Parker gave a score of 52, and called "the vinous equivalent of Liquid Plumber". I disagree with that assessment--Liquid Plumber is safe to pour down the drain, but our tasting group was wondering what the Tepusquet might do to the pipes. If the EPA knew about it, it would probably qualify for hazmat disposal.
This wine is just everything words like "Cupcake" and "Red Velvet" imply, which for a strategy of attracting female buyers is great marketing. But it's too sweet, soft and fluffy for anyone on this board. (No I didn't buy it, it showed up on Thanksgiving.)
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
Jenise, I'd been wondering about the name every time I've seen something from Cupcake Vineyards on the shelf. I never bought any because the name put me off--it conjured images of excessive sweetness. Unfortunately it seems I wasn't far wrong.
You have to give them points for truth in advertising though. It is what it says it is. Unfortunately that is total crap. If I want to drink Dr. Pepper or Mountain Dew I will do so.
