WTN: 1990 Château Lafleur

by keith prothero » Sat Oct 21, 2006 2:57 am

  • 1990 Château Lafleur - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol (10/20/2006)
Deep ruby.with a bit of pink on the rim.A stunning nose of black fruit, herbs and licqourice. On the palate, there are lovely layers of ripeness, creamy texture and so luscious that one wants to sip each drop so carefully.Beautifully balanced, with good long length and no doubt the best Bordeaux I have tasted this year.Outstanding (94 pts.)

thanks for note. Was this decanted much in advance? While most '90s are tres approachable, I had heard the Lafleur was a beast. You're a lucky man!

Only decanted for an hour or so,but took at least 2 hours to slowly drink and savour each drop  Actually, although drinking very well,I am fairly sure it will develop further with a few more years.
