Breakfast to me is where I find it and what my heart, my stomach (and I suppose my kidneys, liver and perhaps even the cerebral cortex) have to say at the moment. Sounds like a great subject for a poll. Will organize.

Oh yes, with regard to IKEA - speaking only for myself and entirely on a personal basis, I am quite convinced that the plague that finally broke Pharaoh's back was when Moses and his brethren opened an IKEA humongo-market next to the Sphinx.

I guess I see IKEA differently. My first 3-4 visits were to the one at the Metro centre in Gateshead (nr. Newcastle), probably not on a weekend and thus the store was almost empty. It's then a joy to stroll round. There is certainly some very good value furniture and if I were a student again, I'd be buying all my basics from there. Compared to the now defunct MFI, IKEA is flat pack furniture is supremely easy to put together.

That said, the Walsall (nr Birmingham) branch is sheer hell on bank holidays, more resembling a human conveyor belt than a shop. I learnt my lesson to avoid that store a good few years ago.

Yes, well fortunately I haven't been to Walsall for some time.
