CHampagne. Good with popcorn?

I guess someone else got that "Sara Moulton Cooks at Home" book. As a gift, of course...

I marked ""other celebration" because I almost enjoyed the champagne table celebrating late August in Ann Arbor. But truth be told, I liked every other table better.

As you know from MOCOOL, I make my own bubbly and I enjoyed the champagne table the most (especially with the great appetizers). But that's the way I like my bubbly - with appetizers as a prelude to a great dinner, where other wines will be served. Not necessarily a special occasion or holiday, but one of the many factors making up a great meal.

Howie, that occasion - with appetizers before a great meal - probably would have garnered a ton of votes.

Well actually one of the local wine shops had a fun tasting with junk and fast food!

Well, FYI, this whole Champagne and popcorn thing appeared in Sara Mouton's book. I found it somewhat amusing. I got the book as a gift and found it pretty basic. But it had some entertaining anecdotes attached to the recipes.

Wine and Champagne sounds like fun, but when we drink wine with popcorn (the buttery kind) we usually pop an inadvertantly obtained oaky/buttery Chardonnay with it per Andrea Immer (Robinson).
