This red Burgundy is imported by Vintner Select, Cincinnati. 13.5% alcohol by volume. Herve Arlaud's two sons and daughter now oversee the domaine. They use organic methods and some biodynamic procedures and use a horse to plow some of the vineyards and lightweight tractor in others.
The wine is deep purple, nearly opaque and quite viscous. Somewhat tannic like long-steeped tea. Nose and flavor of crushed berries--dark raspberries with a note of clove. Overnight it showed more fruit and less tannin. Not as special as I remember the 1999 vintage being, but still quite nice. The 1999 of this was one of my favorite Burgundies. They also make a nice M-S-D "Les Millandes" and some Gevrey wines.
