Late night munchoids

by Howie Hart » Thu Aug 24, 2006 11:23 am

Sometimes, late in the evening I get hungry and look for something to curb the growling. Sometimes I settle for a bowl of cereal. Last night after the Wed. Night Chat, for however, I browsed around the kitchen and ended up covering a plate with Triscuits, topping them with cheddar cheese and pepperoni and nuking them in the microwave for a minute. I've had this type of snack before, and usually wash it down with a beer, however, last night I just happened to have a bit of Auslese, which actually, I found paired quite nicely with this combination. I know that off-dry Rieslings and Gewurtz's pair up with spicy Oriental dishes, but I enjoyed this simple pairing of sweet vs. spicy.

Fusion cuisine - Triscuit nachos!

Sounds pretty good right about now....
