Arriving at Wine Focus rather late but busy doing bird surveys in S Alberta these past few weeks!

14% alc, $26 Cdn, dried out natural cork, no oak, soil is rocky calcareous. Staff at deVines said "try this one Bob". Glad I did, different and enjoyable. Went well with pork scallopini and herbed courgettes.

Color. Very pale gold.

Nose. Bread, apple, pear. Could not find the garlic appeal that this wine is known for! Day 2 I found trace of freshly peeled onion.

Palate. Initially thought some oak here, mistaken! Lemon, apple, hint of unripe pear. Not too tropical, nice finish appeals. Medium-bodied, lengthy, elegant, spice. Was not so good on day 2 however. Interesting effort here however. All chard drinkers should try this!
