WTN: Talk about great cheap sparklers--Jansz

by Jenise » Thu Aug 10, 2006 12:46 pm

NV Jansz Brut
Tasmania $18

We opened this with bubble-maniac friends and we were all blown away. This is one of the most Frenchy sparkling wines I've ever tasted with assertive flavors of spicy green apple skin, white nectarine, biscuit and toffee. Medium bodied with intense, pin-prick bubbles. Made from 51% Chardonnay, 46% Pinot Noir, and 3% Pinot Meunier, it was aged on lees for 28 months. A real over achiever at the price--I'm ordering a case.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
