What's the most unlikely thing you mix with peanut butter

I keep peanut butter in the house. Today (I have a cold and the idea of food wasn't really interesting) I had a peanut butter sandwich. Actually two tasted open-faced sandwiches. I like crunchy peanut butter and I like it spread on hot toast so it gets gooey.

I forgot about celery! I used to pull out the branches from the fridge, rince them, and spread the pb inside. Unfortunately, celery is fairly uncommon here in France for a reason I've never figured out. I hate that, but I love celery in dressing and things like chili.

I don't mind the drift at all. Little celery in France? Bizarre. Can you get celeriac? I was jazzed to see that at our local market this Saturday. Of course, we have celery available year-round, though it's especially good right about now.

As to the original topic, I've never used peanut butter in a way that's the least bit unusual. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I like to take leftover steamed rice and fry it up with a little oil, some celery, carrots, onion, maybe some chicken, whatever else is sitting in the fridge, and a good dose of red pepper flakes. As soon as it's fried up nicely, it comes off the heat and a dollop of creamy peanut butter goes in. Mix it all up and you have peanut butter rice.

Satay sauce. Yes, indeedy! That gets my vote.

There's also Chinese Dan Dan Mein, which traditionally is made with sesame seed paste, but in many Chinese restaurants in the USA is made with peanut butter instead. Having had it made both ways, I think I actually prefer it made with peanut butter.

The most bizarre thing I've mixed with peanut butter is balogna and Miracle Whip. Somehow I got on a kick of eating a peanut butter, bologna and Miracle Whip sandwich as an after school snack in high school. Twenty-five years later I still get the craving for that concoction about once every two years.

A local favorite is to mix corn syrup with peanut butter. Spread that on bread and it's almost as good as honey.
