WTN: Bilbo, look out for the dragon! (Leitz Dragonstone)

2004 Leitz Rudesheimer Drachenstein Riesling QbA (Dragonstone)

On release this was almost painfully intense, as it has been the last 4 vintages (the 2005 is similar). Now with a year or so gone by from release the wine has clamed down considerably, with better sugar/acid balance, still prominent peach, apple and lime fruit and an emerging mineral base that had been hiding under a lot of baby fat. It's really starting to show the mark of the racy, classic 2004 vintage. Delicious stuff now, and a bargain for $10.99.

Usually about time to start drinking when the next vintage is released.
So I'll take your advice, despite having opened a 2001 Christoffel Urz Wurz Kab on your say-so last weekend and finding it still pretty closed. Boy, you can't trust ANY of the major wine writers any more.

Obviously your Christoffel did not have the requisite leakage to properly age it.

It's certainly not because my cellar is colder than yours!
