Anyone know anything about the Good Vintage Club from GHW? Another post here said that it offers discounts and the ability to get these hard to find wines (El Rom, Katrzin, Ortal, etc.).

I wonder if it's just for those living in Israel.

Hi,

I left a voice message on Miki Shani's phone today. I believe she is the manager of the club. When I will get to task to her I will ask:

- Release dates this summer
- Release dates in the US
- Orders of future wine
- Pre-order of limited quantity wine - i.e. Elrom, Magnum bottles
- Discounts
- Storing wine for aging in the winery cellar
- Members living outside Israel
- Anything else I could think of, or will get as reply to this post

Miki Shani returned my call. Not too many answers:

- For release dates I will have to call the marketing people
- 2004 El Rom, due to be released by the "end of summer" will be offered to (only existing) members with a limit of 3 bottles each
- Currently there are no special offers available to members, the last offers where advance purchase of the Yarden 2005 series
- Membership is not limited to Israeli residences, but e-mails and mailings are in Hebrew and to local address, as are wine orders and shipment.

Elephant's memory:

Some may note that I report not on the 57 wines tasted but only on 52. That is simply because two of those tasting notes are destined to appear first in the 2009 edition of my book and three are of experimental wines, the fate of which are yet to be determined by the winery. My guess is that some positive surprises await.
