This is so good. Love the flavor combo.

Sapphire EAST Cucumber Cocktail with Almond
(created by mixologist Gem Yamamoto of Brushstroke)
60 ml Sapphire EAST (about 2 ounces)
18ml Fresh lime juice (just over half an ounce)
Japanese cucumber
3 tsp simple syrup (60% sugar/40% water mix)
A pinch of Sicilian sea salt
A pinch of roasted almond powder

Directions: Muddle cucumber and lightly shake all of the above. Pour in to Rock Glass. Sea salt, roasted coarse ground almond and ground pepper mix on the rim. Roasted almond crunch and cucumber for garnish. (My personal opinion: It may sound fussy, but the sea salt, almond, and ground pepper rim takes this drink to the next level.)

Sounds good. Pimm's #1 Cup is traditionally served with slices of cucumber in the glass, and IMO they provide a subtle flavor that is integral to the drink. Pimm's without the cucumber is OK, but one feels that something's missing.

Sounds interesting and delicious, Karen! We make some other gin-cuke cocktails but I've never put almond in them.

I will have to try this, though my new favorite drink is muddled cuke with Grey Goose and club soda.

Isn't one of the gins supposed to have a cucumberish flavor? Hendricks?

Yep - it's Hendrik's. I believe it's flavored with cucumber. Good stuff!

The Sapphire East mentioned May not be available everywhere. Bombay put it out initially only in certain markets. It's in a standard Bombay bottle, but with a black label. The flavor is Sapphire with lemongrass and black peppercorns. Good stuff.

I'm really into herb infused cocktails right now. I was thinking basil would go well with this??

Oh yeah...make a basil-gin smash, essentially muddled basil (but don't muddle it too heavy so as not to get the bitterness) with a good dry gin and crushed ice. Yowza!
