Ha! I would!

Years ago when I was at the International Wine Center in Manhattan the place threw an end-of-year tasting party for us teachers. A door prize was a wrapped mystery bottle. They poured out a second bottle first, blind, so we could all have a go at guessing what it was. When the prize was awarded and unwrapped by the winner, none of us had gotten it right. By a long shot.

It was garlic wine.

And it was nice! In retrospect when the winner opened the bottle and we all took a second taste, all of us then identified the garlic note. But it was so subtle, and so odd, that I think originally all our respective brains refused to let us even entertain the thought that what we were tasting was anything other than some obscure grape.

Ever since then I've said I would try any wine, no matter how odd. If they can make a pleasant garlic wine, then the sky's the limit.

:D

I have heard folks say that Trader Joe's is carrying this wine.

I don't think I would buy it but if someone else opened a bottle, I'd give it a try.

That was me and a famed California vintner's Hemp wine. :) I tried it. Tasted like sauvignon blanc with oregano!
