Fruits with chicken?

I know pork and applesauce is a common pairing. I like duck breast with a cherry or plum sauce. I have also cooked pork with cherry sauce and pork with peaches and pecans. I haven't really cooked chicken with fruit except with pineapple and a sweet and sour sauce in an Asian dish. What other fruits do you pair with chicken and how do you prepare the dish? I would like some uncomplicated recipes.

I can't do the recipe thing but some combos are orange, ala the classic Duck l'Orange, apricot/butter sauce would be great, plum sauce, lemon chicken... seems citrus & stonefruit are winners!

Yes, lemon chicken is great and I think orange could work too--maybe Mandarin oranges.

Chicken Veronique, chicken with grapes, is a classic French recipe.

I have a nice recipe for Guinea Hen Normande (cooked with apples and cream, finished with a shot of calvados) that could easily be done to a chicken.

My favorite all time chicken dish is Chicken Marbella (an old Silver Palate recipe) that has prunes in it. I know, I know...but don't knock it until you try it. It also has olives, capers, and lots of garlic and oregano so it really has that sweet salty savory thing going on.

Oh, and my brother won a bbq cook off with a chicken breast recipe glazed with peach jam/marsala wine and garlic. It's delicious too.

Chicken Marbella is very interesting. We had it at a neighbors home several years ago and I recall walking into the house and smelling that wonderful odor throughout. The dish was unusual, but I can't say I would ever make it. Everyone raved about it, but Gene and I are not fond of a lot of fruit/meat combos. Our fave is pork chops with home made applesauce, and halibut steaks with grilled, minted pineapple spears with a little brown sugar.

I've always wanted to make this but haven't attempted it yet. Sounds fabulous!
