Larry, do you have a good source? I want to order some fresh chiles, and this is the website I found that would do it: http://newmexicanconnection.com/catalog/shopping_cart.php.

Do you like these guys, or would recommend someone else?

I've never used a shipping source, but they look legit and expensive. If you do use them, I'd recommend the Big Jim variety. I wouldn't mind shipping you a sack. The grocery stores that had low priced mediums now have only hot varieties. But I should be able to get a more expensive medium chile elsewhere--assuming you want medium. Total cost would probably be $40+.

Larry, I do want mediums, and I'd be happy to take you up on your offer. Is a typical 'sack' 20 # ? I'm wondering if I shouldn't get 40, if I'm going to go to the trouble of roasting/bagging. I LOOOOVE green chiles.

A sack is 30-35 lbs, depending on where you buy it.

30-35 lbs sounds perfect, Larry. Maybe ship Monday, week after next? That's the 18th or something. I'll send money....

I can get my faves, Big Jim chiles, 35#, for about $20. I'll hold off until the 18th. Cross your fingers and give me a reminder a couple of days before.

Just what I'd hoped for! From the description of the chiles on the website I mentioned to you, the Jims seemed like the ideal chile. Will do on the reminder. I can't take them next week as late week/weekend travel plans make it impossible to process the chiles on arrival, but the following week is good.

Cross your fingers; the Big Jims should still be available.
