Welcome Patti, glad you could join us.
I agree, these photos really get the appetite going, don't they?

For posting pics, I find that uploading them to a hosting site such as photobucket.com, resizing them there, and then using the link here in your post is an easy way to get it done.

These are some fudge cookies we made:

sorry about the lighting - but there was no need to apologize for the taste!

Allow to to add a belated additional welcome, Patti! You've pretty much nailed down all the things that most of us love about this place. :)

Okay. It's small and doesn't look right.

Patti, you're definitely getting the upload and inline display bits right, so you've won two-thirds of the battle!

Now you need to use whatever program you have on your computer to resize your original to a good size for viewing on the Web. The forum will accept up to 500 by 500 pixels, and I generally find that between 300 x 300 and 400 x 400 is usually good.

If you don't have a good image-editing software, try Irfanview, which is a small download and absolutely free. http://www.irfanview.com

Thank you Robin! I downloaded it and I think I've got it.

Here is that picture after resizing it. Now that it's bigger, I think that sauce looks a bit, well, unappetizing. Bad color. :|

Hooray! You've got it!

Don't worry much about color, Patti. Food photography can be very challenging unless you're using professional cameras and lighting equipment, and who wants to do that! Indoors especially, incandescent or fluorescent lights or daylight all have different "color temperatures," and things like cream sauces especially can look a little weird if the lighting turns them light green or blue. But don't worry about it, we're all dealing with that and learn to ignore it. :)

OK Patti...I'm coming right over for breakfast...LOL! That is my all-time favorite and it looks delicious!

Hope you are not having too much flooding where you are.

Whew. My first food photo under my belt. Thanks for the feedback!

About the flooding...It isn't as bad here (Dubuque) as it is west of us. People are really suffering and the farmers can't get their crops in.

I was on the Mississippi River this afternoon. The water is very high and the current is rough. A lot of debris floating downstream. They are actively working the dams and flood gates around here.

Hopefully the saturated ground will dry and we'll have a salvageable growing season.

No offense Mike, but I'd take a jar of Celia's lemon curd over a truckload of crabs, any day.

Buckhuntr, you know that if I could figure out a reasonable way to get them to you, they'd be there now. :)

Mike, LOVE the crabs!
