Scala at the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem was recently named among the world's 101 Best Hotel Restaurants by TheDailyMeal.com and Fox News sharing the same list as restaurants such as Alain Ducasse's at the Plaza Athénée in Paris or Guy Savoy at Las Vegas's Ceasars Palace. Scala is my favorite restaurant in Israel and a must try for anyone visiting Jerusalem, keeping kosher or not. The chef is NYC-trained Oren Yerushalmi and all I can say is that nearly everything he makes is delicious and flavorful. The restaurant is gorgeous yet a bit dark and the service is well-above most israeli restaurants. The restaurant features an excellent wine menu but there's no BYOB-corkage policy.
