A chain of teashops called J Lyons & Co was quite popular in the 40s and 50s. Sort of faded out after then. The company's ownership was Jewish, the Salmon family.
60 years ago it built and ran its own in-house computer... took up 5000 square feet of space. No laptops or Cloud computing in those days then.
