So- You Want to Eat Whale?

A whale large enough to eat other whales, with rows of teeth some of which were 36 cm (about 14") long. Quite a feast if you can find it. See the brief but fascinating article at http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100630/ap_ ... ale_fossil

I am constantly amazed at the wide variety of life-forms that predate us. This is a timely link too, in that about 12 hours from now, I and a friend are going to prowl around a nearby rock quarry in search of fossils. Of course, what we're likely to find are mostly coral reef organisms. I'm hoping to find a whole urchin, or maybe a brittle star. The rocks here are way too old for whales.
