Baked beans continue to dominate the French food market in this article :

Personally I prefer baked beans with kosher viennas with a glass of whisky or whiskey. Good comfort food at this time of year.

And where, oh where, is Eleanor of Aquitaine now that we need her?

And as it should be, it won't be long before baked beans on toast replace that wimpy croissant for breakfast in France.

Shel....

All will be well so long as they remember to serve soggy fried tomatoes with the beans on toast.

As long as it comes with some black pudding, a fried slice or two and maybe a few rashers to tide one over till lunch!

But let us never, never forget that the world's best bacon is that served in the breakfast room of the Badrutt Palace in St. Moritz. Bacon so good that one table is set aside daily for Zeus, Aphrodite and Bacchus!

Topped me there Daniel, been to St. Moritz but not to the fab bacon table at the Badrutt Palace--something to add to the list of things to do.

I sure am no Francophile, but the French croissant and coffee is light miles ahead of the flatulent English baked beans on toast.
