Rogov, I'm torn between two ethnic specialties, favoritism depending on need: The traditional Cuban sandwich or a New Orleans muffuletta made in the style of Central Grocery ...

Of course, it's hard to beat a BLT on rye, assuming we're talking fresh, ripe beefsteak tomatoes still warm from the summer sun in the garden. Or fried fish on rye ...

Edward G, I have to admit few things disgust me more than Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray. The one or two times I tried it, I felt like I should be spitting out seeds, even though celery doesn't really have seeds where we eat it. This is definitely a drink for old timers. IMHO, the proper drink for Ashkenazi Jewish food is NYC tap water with lemon to cut the taste of the fat in my mouth, or something acidic like Co'Cola straight from the fountain.
