Good heavens, are there no Italians on the group willing to vote for the neglected Love Apple?

Surely tomatos are one of the most versatile veg....or is it because it is a Veggie-come-lately having only come over on the boat about 400 years ago?

I had to break out of the mold and vote for spinach, because I love it, and because its elegant simplicity and ease of preparation makes it one of the most flexibly usable vegetables. One could actually call it the Pinot Noir of veggies.

Eggplant is another under-rated contender that might have been my second choice. Also subject to a vast variety of uses, it's a vegetable that's a particular mainstay of vegetarian cuisine (on days when I choose to go meatless) because it's so "meaty" that it can make a vegetarian dish hearty enough that you don't miss the meat.

Tomatoes are wonderful! But botanically, it's a fruit.

Indubitably, but it was included in the poll and your Supreme Court made it a vegetable by law, so I think one should give it serious consideration in the poll.

Where is cauliflower? I just realised that I eat a lot of it. But, on the other hand....I could not live without onions and carrots, so carrot must be it (my mother told me that I liked carrots so much as a child that my skin turned yellowish).
