Paired with a braised pork in onions & rosemary (sure a Southern Rhone would have been better, but I wanted Bordeaux)

Deep garnet color. Slightly evolved nose of cassis, cherry, earth and a little wood. Quite smooth on the palate, with good fruit and just a hint of finishing structure. This value wine ($13 on futures in 2001) is well worth what I paid for it, and even more as it is medium weight and very food friendly. Very tasty.
