Tried this wine last night w/ DinDin:
1. Mandirola Barbera Praie Dd'OC: Colli Tortonesi (13.5%; The Piedmote Guy/Shafer/MN; www.ThePiedmonteGuy.com) Casasco/It 2021: Very dark/near black color; very spicy/dusty/OV very spicy/Barbera/Italian dried herbs/Italian sausage almost floral slight oak lovely nose; quite tart/tangy/bit acidic very strong very spicy/Barbera/Italian herbs some toasty/oak very strong dusty/OV very classic Piemonte Barbera rather rich/mouthfilling rather structured flavor w/ strong rustic tannins; very long very spicy finish that follows flavor; a rather strong/rugged/structured Barbera that needs another 3-6 yrs; fairly rich but not nearly as acidic/hard as many others from Piemonte; a serious Barbera at a good price. $27.00 (SFW&S)

More quippermork from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I had the Mandirola Timorasso a few weeks ago & was blown away by it....an outstanding Timo. So I was delighted to find the Barbera on the shelf at Susan's. Not quite of the stature of the Timo, but a pretty terrific expression of Piemontese Barbera.
Another winner from ThePiedmontGuy imports.
