Finger Lakes Suggestions?

I've found lots of advice on line about the wineries, but less about lodging and dining. This summer, we're traveling by car from Ohio to New Hampshire for a wedding, and plan to stop in the Finger Lakes region on the way home. Looks like a fairly big region....we can stay for 4 nights, and will be traveling east-to-west. So far, I'm thinking maybe Ithaca for a night or two, then travel west and stay somewhere else, but where? Our only real requirement is that a place be clean and comfortable, and we're flexible-we've stayed in hotels, motels, B-and-Bs. This will be toward the end of August, which I assume is the busy season in the area, so reservations are probably necessary, yes? Any recommendations and advice will be welcome! Thanks in advance :)

The Inn at Glenora http://www.glenora.com/gln_ldinn.html is very nice if a bit cher. It's located on the west side of Seneca Lake not far from Watkins Glen, providing easy access to many wineries on both sides of the lake. Also, you wouldn't be far from some Keuka Lake wineries.

I've stayed at Glenora and it is one of the nicest places I've ever seen, I'll 2nd it as a choice. If you want a nice B&B a place called "Gone with the Wind" is great and near Keuka Wineries. The inn at Chateau Lafayette Reneau is nice as well.

Thanks, Ed, I appreciate the input. Part of the fun of traveling, for me, is the planning; looking on line to find places to stay, figuring out our itinerary, etc.
