Deep dark red color with a mature fruit nose. The wine was big and dominated the '94 Vougeot it was served beside. On the palate was bing cherry and vanilla. The wine is 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet and both were present. The sangiovese presented the tart cherry and the cabernet rounded off the body and gave it weight. Expect the vanilla had to come from oak but it was certainly in balance. Oak was there but well in the background where it belongs. This wine is good now but should last another 5-10 years.
