Jerome Quiot " St Gervais" Cote du Rhone Villages 2004

A blend of Grenache, Carignan and Syrah.

Medium-weight, lightly spicy, very fleshy and slightly jammy raspberry and cherry fruit, earthy, anise. Simply delicious.

Makes me wonder why I don't drink more Cote du Rhone Village.

Purchased on sale for $13.80 (Canadian).

Thanks for the note. I've been looking for some 04 or 05 CdRV - my standby wine. The 02s were watery, the 03s too plush, but I haven't found an 04 yet to restock the cellar. The few 04s I've tried so far are just too clean for me. Does the Quiot have that wonderful horse crap and old saddle leather rhone funk? Or is the 'earthy' quality nice fresh black dirt? I want the former.

Sorry OW, no horse crap or saddle leather here. Keep looking.
