Tried this w/ Mac's cake at our SFWG on Mon:
1. Jaffurs Viognier LateHrvst SantaBarbaraCnty (16.5%) 2001: Dark brown/murky almost PX/oloroso sherry color; very grapey/passito/overripe rather hot/alcoholic almost muscatty bit caramel/butterscotch bit complex nose w/ no Viog character; somewhat sweet very ripe/raisened/pruney some hot/fumey/alcoholic very grapey/passito slight oxidized/bitter somewhat aged/PX-like some caramel/butterscotch flavor; somewhat sweet very raisened/pruney/grapey/passito/PX-like some caramel/butterscotch somewhat alcoholic/fumey finish; much like a lighter PX or oloroso sherry; an ugly looking wine but actually rather interesting dessert wine except for the alcohol.
$26.00/hlf

1. This wine went South pretty fast I thought. I just bought the latest Jaffurs LateHrvst Viognier but have not tried it yet. All in all, I rather liked thiis as a dessert wine except for the obvious alcohol.
