WTN: Isabel Sauvignon Blanc 2005

by Bruce Hayes » Thu Dec 14, 2006 8:44 pm

Marlborough.

Lemon and spice on the nose.

Lemon, grapefruit and a hint of lime, zingy acidity, peppery, not much in the way of grassiness or herbal notes, some gooseberry.
Very long, mouth-watering, finish.

A very big and rich, yet classy and elegant wine.

Purchased on sale at $16.95 (Canadian), marked down from $19.95.

Screwcap closure.

You have summed up the house style of Isabel very well there Bruce!! Consistent with my notesof the past few vintages, quite citric mingled with gooseberry.

Always been my favorite NZ SB. Very dry, very intense.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
