WTN: 2002 Urbans-Hof Piesporter Goldtropfchen Spätlese

Opened last night at our local Asian BYO. It showed very well, which males perfect sense, as it was my last bottle from a case. Lots of peachy fruit, with underlying minerality. Good acids that balanced the sweetness to a knife edge. Very refreshing and substantial enough to work with food.

I haven't had Urbans-Hof PG in a while. Is it usually less rich than the Theo Haart version?

Yes. More linear/minerally.

Out of curiosity, any idea if that is because of where the vines are, stylistic choices, or both?

I think it is more stylistic choice, and what that means about harvesting. Nik Weis has always wanted the pradikats to mean something.

Who says males have perfect sense? Must translate as "makes perfect sense."
