Wow. Brilliant black and white pepper (both), blazing acidity (in a good way) and lovely pomegranite fruit. The Negroamaro was also outstanding. Both from Mendocino County organic and biodynamic vineyards. The winery is in Hopland, but the owners have Bay Area roots and they restore historic buildings, so they have opened a tasting room in the industrial wastelands off Third Street near the CALTRAIN/AMTRAK service yard. This is the most direct bicycle route between downtown Oakland and the West Texas Street BART station (my preferred station for cross Bay travel). Also the home of the outstanding LINDEN STREET BREWERY and a new restaurant.
