WTN: CharlesSmith Viognier '11...(short/boring)

Tried last night as my white:
1. CharlesSmith Viognier LawrenceVnyd/WashState (14.5%) WallaWalla 2011: Light gold color; attractive pineapply/pear/peach/Viog bit floral/carnations slight earthy nose; soft/bit fat rather pineapply/Viog/ripe peach/floral light earthy flavor; med.long soft/fat ripe/peach/pear/Viog/pineapple light earthy finish; a pleasant/undistinguished WashState Viog and way overpriced at $43.00 (UdW)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I find the CharlesSmith wines a bit on the hit-or-miss side. Some of the low-end stuff can be quite good drinking for the $$'s. Some of the high-end stuff can be outstanding. This was, I guess, one of his mid-end stuff. It's only redeeming feature was the outstanding LawrenceVnyd terroir it displayed. It was rather simple & boring and altogether undistinguished for a WashState Viog and quite overpriced.
