1997 Ravenswood Icon - USA, California, Sonoma County (12/9/2006)
Simultaneously oaky and earthy. There's lots of character, but it's got just a touch too much wood. One the palate it's medium bodied, spicy, meaty and generally a fine partner to a rare steak. This has mellowed with age, and is actually better than I thought it would be. Enjoyable.
