by Jon Peterson » Sat Dec 09, 2006 3:09 pm

My brother called me yesterday. He wants to but a bottle of Groth cab for a VIP in his life. I did search the WLP, but found little. Anyone have any information?

Jon! It's good to see your name again.

But, what specifically do you need? Vintage reccos? And is your brother looking at the regular or the reserve?

I'd look elsewhere if you are talking about the current release. The 2003 "Oakville" is $55 SRP and worth about $5. It is very lean and sour.

Jenise,
Thank you for your kind words. Nothing is so nice as knowing your were missed. It is good to be back interacting with the forum.

Actually, I think my brother may have bought the wine already and is now seeking some information, a little cart-before-the-horse-ish. From what I'm reading here, the 2003 isn't worth the price. I hope he has the '01 or '02 Additionally, the guy he's buying this for is really big into wine (he recently installed an elevator to his wine cellar so he dosen't have to contend with the stairs). I think it is always dangerous buying wine for someone like that.

I think I'll just refer my dear brother to the Groth website.

Thank you, Randy...I was afraid of that.
