WTN: 2009 Ridge Buchignani Ranch Carignane

Nose of berries, bacon, cedar. Soft, well rounded palate, fine tannins and still with ample fruits. A well balanced Californian Carignane. Although it doesn't possess the rusticity of it’s Languedoc brethren, this is quite a polished effort.

I liked this wine qutie a bit as well, Shaji! May not be totally rustic, but still has that potent "weedy" note I like in Carignane!

In past vintages, Porter Creek down the valley a bit made a good version, as does Da Vero (although theres is a little bit hot??? but I've heard the current vintage of C from Porter Creek was not as good. :?:

Brian,
You recently posted a note on a wine from Preston (not Carignane) and that had reminded me that Preston made some decent ones too. I liked this Ridge quite a bit actually!
