Tried this Sat w/ Susan's CornedBeef&Cabbage:
1. Carlisle Zin DryCreekVlly/SonomaCnty (15.6%; OldVine Zin + 14% PS; 350 cs) 2012: Med.dark color; very strong blackberry/raspberry/DCV Zin/strawberry quite spicy light toasty/oak bit dusty/OV quite fragrant nose; fairly tart classic DCV Zin/raspberry/blackberry/Zinberry/very spicy rather dusty/OV/earthy light toasty/oak perfumed flavor w/ soft/round/smooth tannins; very long very spicy/raspberry/strawberry/DCV Zin/blackberry bit pungent rather dusty/OV finish w/ light/round tannins; lots of perfumey DCV Zin character w/ more high-toned notes than the Carlisle vnyd-designate Zins typically show; drinkable now and would benefit from another yr and should go out 3-6 yrs and beyond; no obvious alcohol or heat evident; a lovely drinkable Zin. $34.00

And a wee BloodyPulpit:
1. One of my resolutions this year has been to drink more Carlisle wines for pleasure, in the recreational mode. I've got quite a baclog it seems. Most people will haul out a DRC, a Screaming Eagle, a SQN when they want to make an impression on other wine folks. Me....it's always a Carlisle. Alas, most folks I try to dazzle in that manner give me this puzzled look and say "Who dat??". But they're usually not label drinkers and recognize the wine as danged good.
