2010 Broc Cellars Mouvedre Luna Matta Vineyard Paso Robles 12.8% abv!

Wow. Even though Broc will be forever associated in my mind with The Theft, this was a delicious, slurpable wine. Just slurpable. Wine of the weekend! Even at this young age. Rich, earthy red and black plum fruit with great acid and a distinct touch of yummy funkyness that added a very fine savory edge. Yum! I love Chris' wines!

2009 Bouchaine Vineyards "Copeland Vineyard" Pinot Noir. I love this hidden winery's take on Carneros Pinot. The Copeland is their highest end cuvee (eye bleeding price), but man oh man is this the definition of silky smooth. Still plenty of acid and fruit, but the mouthfeel makes me understand why many people love Pinot Noir. Their cuvees do vary quite a bit...another cuvee was quite spiky and angular in character but also refreshing.
