Who here knew that Verdejo could transcend the little wine -category to become a genuinely fun and interesting wine? And why wasn't I told?

Menade Rueda Verdejo 2012 - 13% abv; organic (so it must be good! :D ); c.10€
Citric, mineral, vividly fruity but in a refreshing kind of way. Good grip and better acidity than in most other Verdejos I've had which makes this very moreish and which, for me at least, raises this to another level of interest for this grape. Duracell bunny finish.

I've never been much moved by Rueda, though it can be refreshing with mussels. Maybe I should try harder but fat chance of finding a good one here. If I come to Finland this summer, I can check out this one. Is it at Alko, Otto?

Of course not! Don't be silly! We don't get good stuff at Alko! :D

If you're here in the summer and want to meet up to drink some good wine, let me know when you'll be here and I'll try to arrange something.
