2012 Bedrock Kirschenmann Vineyard Lodi Zinfandel ($35)

Surprisingly very light purple color. On the nose somewhat floral, some spice, vanilla, raspberry and cherry fruit. On the palate surprising light, not particularly complex, not overly tannic mix of cherry fruit, vanilla and cranberry. I understand that this is intended to be feminine in style (thats what it says on the label) but it didn’t excite me much; maybe it needs more time.

Probably true that a little time would help. New release zin is rarely all that complex to my taste unless it is a field blend. Is this 100% zin?

Enjoyed a bottle of this wine about a month ago, our bottle seemed to have a bit more weight than the one described earlier, also darker in color....Balance of tasting notes wd be pretty much the same..Not terribly complex..probably too young for that..but our bottle did provide some very pleasant drinking.
