WTN: Yalumba Tricentenary Vines Grenache 2002

Barossa Valley.

Very dark red in the glass.

Big, with a soft mouth feel, spicy, red licorice, tart cherry and raspberry fruit, a little rough and dirty tasting around the edges.

With time, it also started showing some heat.

A much more subdued form of Grenache than I usually find. Didn't seem to have any of that "zip" that I usually associate with Grenache and was, to be honest, rather flat. That, combined with the rough texture and the heat, meant this is not a wine for me.

Purchased for $39.95 Canadian.
